From Portland and Southern Maine
The Tipsy Butler Bed and Breakfast is located approximately one hour north of Portland via scenic U.S. Route 1. Follow Route 1 through Brunswick, Bath, and Wiscasset, then exit to the twin villages of Newcastle and Damariscotta.
For those flying into Portland (or Boston!), Concord Coach Lines offers bus service to Damariscotta (just a few minutes from The Tipsy Butler). We’re happy to pick you up from the bus station if we’re available - no charge!
From Bangor and Downeast Maine
Follow U.S. Route 1 south toward Newcastle and Damariscotta. Exit to Rte. 215 on your right, go left at the Louis Doe Home Center, and take a left at the stop sign onto Academy Hill Road. High Street will be on your left.
Arriving by Air
Portland International Jetport (PWM) is the closest major airport and is approximately one hour away by car. Rental cars are available at the airport. For those flying into Portland (or Boston!), Concord Coach Lines offers bus service to Damariscotta (just a few minutes from The Tipsy Butler). We’re happy to pick you up from the bus station if we’re available - no charge!
Other convenient options include:
- Bangor International Airport (BGR) – approximately 1 hour 45 minutes
- Knox County Regional Airport (RKD) in Rockland – approximately 35 minutes
